Breckenridge Vacation Rentals – First Ski Day
Posted by stoneybr | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 15-11-2009
The snow is falling outside on this November morning. Five inches so far. We are staying a vacation rental home just ten minutes outside Breckenridge, Colorado. We researched Breckenridge Vacation Rentals on the internet and chose one of the many homes that were available.
Staying in a home rather than a condo or one of the hotels is so much more fun. We have a big family and it is really nice having access to a real luxury home and not being cramped. There are enough bedrooms to go around and it has that real homey feel.
Watching the snow fall, while smelling the fresh coffee, is one of those experiences that stick with you forever. The kids got up all excited. They are spending the day at the Breckenridge Ski School which is one of the best in the country. I know by the time we pick them up, we won’t be able to keep up with them on the slopes.
We rented skis, poles, boots, and helmets at Christy Sports by the Main Street Hyatt yesterday. We were able to reserve them in advance online plus the owners of the rental house got us a special discount. I even got a performance package with the latest ski design!
After piling into the four wheel drive that we also reserved online, we parked in the Beaver Run lot with the parking pass from our rental home. Our parking space was literally 25 feet from the ski run! We chose to ski down to the Maggie lift and dropped the kids off at ski school.
We were able to get right in line, it is not holiday season yet, and go all the way to the top of the mountain. We skied down taking Briar Rose and Cashier all the way to the lift back to the top at Beaver Run Resort.
After a second run, and a hot chocolate stop, we caught the Peak 8 Superconnect to go to the top of the Peak 8 runs. Cruising a blue, we went all the way down to the Gondola stop to ride down to the parking lot in town for lunch. We took our skis and walked to the Blue River Bistro for a leisurely lunch. Their Blue River salad and the fish and chips are to die for (not to mention the Martini menu).
Fortified, we went back to the Gondola and rode up to catch the Colorado Super Chair to the top of the mountain. We skied over to Peak 9 for the afternoon runs.
After collecting everyone, we stored skis for the night and headed home. After a dip in the hot tub to relax those sore muscles, we started planning our trip for tomorrow. Breckenridge vacation rentals by owner is the only way to experience a Breckenridge ski trip.
Don’t rent a luxury home in Breckenridge Colorado unless you want to avoid being in a place where you have to go outside to change your mind. Experience a Breckenridge vacation rental at http://www.stoneybrooke.net.
